The journal founded in provides a widely recognized international forum and an opportunity, through worldwide distribution, to reach engaged audiences in Creative Writing Studies, Creative Writing teaching, Creative Writing practice and Creative Writing research. Published in paper as well as electronically, New Writing has an active interest in recognition of its authors through formal citation that supports creative writers and Creative Writing Studies scholars who work and study in universities and colleges. It is not necessary to work or study in a university or college to submit to the journal - simply, those who do are often strongly encouraged by their institutions to publish in peer-reviewed, widely cited journals. Other topics are also encouraged.

We seek proposals that are well written, well researched, theoretically grounded, and connected to current conversations in the field. Submission instructions. Pedagogy: We seek articles on creative writing pedagogies that offer both a theoretical and historical background as well as practical applications to engage and reinvigorate the creative process for both students and teachers. We also welcome articles that advance and enlarge theoretical perspectives for creative writing pedagogy scholarship. History: We welcome proposals exploring the histories of individuals, groups, and communities; institutions broadly defined ; and texts related to creative writing as a process, taught subject, or cultural practice. We seek proposals on creative writing pedagogies that offer both a theoretical and historical background as well as practical applications to engage and reinvigorate the creative process for both students and teachers.
