We are currently in Beta version and updating this search on a regular basis. Architectural education has always been fundamentally influenced by whichever styles are popular at a given time, but that relationship flows in the opposite direction as well. All styles must originate somewhere, after all, and revolutionary schools throughout centuries past have functioned as the influencers and generators of their own architectural movements. Instead, they forge their own way and bring their students along with them. This year is the fourth class at SCI-Arc Edge and previous graduates are already establishing themselves as innovative voices defining what it means to be an architect in the twenty-first century.

Larry calls me to tag along with him to SCI Arc this morning. Why not? I haven't seen a school presentation in almost 15 years or so, the last time I was a jury at Pratt Institute in early 90's. After walking by and speed shooting the projects, I sort of follow one presentation. The thesis is a Car Museum on the corner of Wilshire and Fairfax, where there is an existing one that I have never been to.

Tim, interesting topic. I agree, I think she makes a good point but I do not see the relevancy to graduate school. Graduate school is an escape from the real world. The point of spending all that money is to formulate your own ideas.
